Johan Put

Hi,

My name is Johan Put and I am from the Netherlands and live in the town called Apeldoorn. I am born in 1971 and I am married and have a son and a daughter. I am working as an operator in the paper industry. We are specialized in release liners of silicones.

I am fishing from the day I can remember. Must have bin 5 years old when I fish for the fist time And it never has gone away.

I fly fish and tie now for about 20 years and My passion in fly tying goes out to the realistic flies, whit more flies then I could ever fish whit, I lose my interest in fly tying for a while. Until I came up whit the realistic fly tying, it is to me a big kick to recreate a bug as good as possible. And it really makes you a better fly tier. In some flies I spent more then 40 hours of tying, but when the end result is finish it gives me a great feeling.

I spent many hours behind the vise, tying is even more important to me then fishing so every day I am behind the vise. Also I tie at shows across Europe and love to tell and learn people the skills of realistic fly tying.

My favourite fish are trout and grayling.
And my favourite river is the Glomma in Norway.

Here in the Netherlands we have a big brackish lake called ’’Oostvoornsemeer’’ It holds very big and strong trout in it and is my favourite location near home.
