Heikki Anttonen

I am Heikki Anttonen, also known by name Mr.pompero. I was born town called Simpele in Eastern Finland 1945, but I have lived my hole mature life in Valkeakoski. I have been fishing from my childhood, first flies I made when I was seven years old using feathers from my pillow. Hook was of course simple angling hook. With own made flies I try to catch fish mainly in my hometown lakes and little streams. In those times there were some trout and asp which now and then tighten my lines. As growing older, I interested in more from fly fishing, I fish small salmons from nearby little stream called "Salmonbrook"

From those times the urge for bigger salmon begun and it has been going on ever since. Real salmon fishing I started 1964 in the Neidenriver in northern part of Norway. Mainly I go for salmon fishing in northern Norway's salmon rivers, but sometimes I visit southern Finland salmon rivers too. Since 1976. I have done most of my salmon fishing with dry flies, most with my own design fly called "Pompero"

Altogether now I have caught 556 salmons with Pompero. Of course duo to fishing conditions I fish with wet flies too, but mainly I use Pompero. I have been over 20 years SUKL (Finnish sport fishing association) fly fishing instructor, mainly salmon fishing and in that particular area the dry fly fishing.
